SEVERAL post box toppers have appeared in towns across South Oxfordshire in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II who passed away last week.

Buckingham Palace announced the monarch died peacefully on Thursday afternoon (September 8) in Balmoral.

Since the announcement, crocheted miniatures of the Queen and her Corgis have appeared in towns such as Abingdon, Didcot and Wallingford.

In Abingdon Market Place, a crocheted Queen in purple stood next to a Corgi with a purple collar has appeared. The year of her birth and death are also crocheted underneath.

In the High Road, Wallingford, a crocheted Queen in blue has appeared stood next to a guard and a tiny Corgi.

In Haydon Road, Didcot, anonymous crocheter Yarnsy has shared her Jubilee creation of the Queen in turquoise with a guard and a purple crown.
