OXFORD MAGISTRATES

 

  1. Robin Williamson, 38, of no fixed address, convicted of assault by beating at Gloucester Green bus station, Oxford, on August 11. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge made on May 16 for theft. Community order imposed and made subject to an exclusion requirement banning him from Gloucester Green bus station for 12 months. Fined £35 and told to pay £50 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £200 costs.
  2. Liam William, 17, of Berry Croft, Abingdon, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe unlawful violence would be used against them or provoke unlawful violence in Caldecott Chase, Abingdon, on October 31. Also admitted driving without insurance and driving without a licence in Caldecott Chase, Abingdon, on October 31. Fined £210 and told to pay £50 compensation, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Also given six points on his driving licence.
  3. Tedd Habyarimana, 26, of Acacia Avenue, Greater Leys, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Glebe Street, Oxford, on August 9. Also admitted one count of obstructing or resisting a police constable in the execution of their duty on August 9 and convicted of a second count of the same offence on the same date. Fined £110 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £50 costs.
  4. Andrew Phasey, 18, of Abbott Road, Didcot, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Balliol Drive, Didcot, on December 13. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

 

BANBURY MAGISTRATES

  1. Thomas Bennett, 18, of Bramley Close, Kidlington, admitted speeding at 37mph on a 30mph road, Cumnor Hill, North Hinksey, on March 15. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with three points.
  2. Steven Lambert, 47, of Windrush, Banbury, admitted assaulting a woman by beating her in Banbury on November 1. Fined £500 and ordered to pay a £50 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  3. Michael Teall, 24, of no fixed address, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Bicester on November 7. Given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  4. Wahiduz Zaman, 59, of Wytham View, Eynsham, admitted withholding information to get car insurance, namely that he only held a provisional licence and had motoring offence convictions. Also admitted driving without a valid licence or insurance in Mill Street, Eynsham, on July 17. Fined £300 and ordered to pay a £30 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for six months.
  5. Justin Poulter, 34, of Elmhurst Way, Carterton, admitted assaulting a woman by beating her and causing criminal damage to a car, an iPhone and a Superdry jacket in Elmhurst Way, Carterton, on October 16. Fined £350 and ordered to pay a £35 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  6. Gerald Doherty, 37, of Nuthatch Way, Bicester, admitted criminally damaging a caravan window to the value of £100 in Bicester on September 25. Given a six-month conditional discharge, told to pay £100 compensation, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  7. Oliver Jordan Jones, 22, of Poplar Grove, Kennington, admitted using a mobile phone while driving in North Way, Oxford, on March 19. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with three points.
  8. Urien Jornea, 20, of no fixed address, admitted drink-driving on Calthorpe Road, Banbury, on November 12. Had 86 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, over the legal limit of 35mg. Fined £300 and ordered to pay a £30 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 22 months.
  9. Daniel Jackson, 38, of Wadards Meadow, Witney, admitted driving without a valid licence or insurance in Ducklington Lane, Witney, on April 11. Fined £350 and ordered to pay a £35 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Also given six points on his driving licence.
  10. Andrew Marshall, 29, of Station Approach, Banbury, admitted stealing £140-worth of meat from the Co-op store in Bassett Avenue, Bicester. Already on a suspended sentence of six weeks for shoplifting from Northampton, Daventry and Towcester Magistrates’ Court on April 22. Jailed for two weeks in addition to earlier sentence of six weeks and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £80. 
  11. Anice Malawi, 34, of no fixed address, admitted using threatening behaviour and words at Banbury Police Station on August 20. Also admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in George Street, Banbury, on September 28. Jailed 14 weeks because threatening behaviour put public service staff and elderly people at risk. Ordered to pay £80 victims’ surcharge and £150 costs. 
  12. Carl Bleach, 24, of Mold Crescent, Banbury, admitted stealing a £25 bottle of eau de toilette on November 2, and stealing a woman’s mobile phone. Given a 12-month conditional discharge. Ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £15 and £25 in costs. 
  13. John Franklin, 45, of Station Lane, Witney, admitted using threatening behaviour and words in Station Lane, on October 31. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £15 victims’ surcharge and £25 costs. 
  14. Nigel Gibbs, 50, of Barton Village Road, Oxford, admitted stealing shopping worth £338 from Sainsbury’s on November 1. Given a 12-month conditional discharge. Ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. 
  15. Graham Taylor, 52, of Ruscote Arcade, Banbury, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Bridge Street, Banbury, on November 3. Fined £50, with a victims’ surcharge of £20 and £30 costs. 
  16. Liam Thompson, 27, of Warwick Road, Banbury, admitted being drunk and disorderly in High Street, Banbury, on November 1. Fined £100, with £20  victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
