The Bowlplex at Ozone Leisure Park is set to receive a £500,000 refurbishment and be relaunched as a Hollywood Bowl next month.

Work has already begun on the site near Blackbird Leys, which will be completely rebranded. It will stay open throughout but officially relaunch as Hollywood Bowl on Thursday, June 16.

It will include a new American-style 'Hollywood Diner' serving burgers, gourmet hotdogs and freshly-made shakes in milk bottles and retro glasses. One of the booths will be inside a vintage pink Chevy car.

Food from the diner can also be delivered to the new lanes alongside a special 'lanes menu'.

Any one of the centre's 24 lanes can be pre-booked and the amusement area, which includes Jurassic Park, MOTO GP bikes, retro games and old arcade favourites like crane games, is also receiving a makeover.

Adam West, general manager of Hollywood Bowl in Oxford said: “We’re incredibly excited about the transformation taking place over the coming month and can’t wait to bring the full Hollywood Bowl experience to both new and existing customers.

“The people of Oxford deserve to have a fantastic bowling centre on their doorstep and we’re looking forward to exceeding their expectations with top class amenities and customer service.”

New jobs are also being recruited for ahead of the move. For more information visit bowlingcareers.co.uk
