Abingdon United crashed 6-2 at home to Highworth Town in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division on Saturday.

Terry Bohane fired Highworth ahead in the 15th minute, and Rich Saunders then struck in the 31st and 33rd minutes.

Lewis Noble bagged a brace of penalties in the 35th and 47th minutes for Abingdon, but they then had Luke Titcombe sent off for a challenge.

Highworth made the extra man count with Bohane scoring twice more to complete his hat-trick, with Matt Bennett also netting.

Wantage Town went top on Friday night – before Reading Town reclaimed pole position the next day – with a 4-0 win at Oxford City Nomads.

Stuart Cattell hooked home the opener from a corner in the 12th minute, and Tom Melledew made it 2-0 from the penalty spot just before the half-hour mark. Richie Guy made it 3-0 in the 35th minute, with a near-post header.

Matt Pedder’s brilliant individual goal ten minutes from time sealed victory. And Nomads’ Adam Lovegrove had a penalty saved by Lewis Noice before the finish.

Bottom club Didcot Town Res pulled off a big shock in Division 1 East when they sent leaders AFC Hinksey crashing to their first loss since the opening day n, with a 3-2 home win.

Hinksey, who fielded an under-strength team, were undone by goals from Sam Borland, Kristofer Gray and Oliver Thomas. Anaclet Odhiambo and Jack Dunmall replied for Hinksey.

Rob Joyce capitalised on a clash between the Rayners Lane goalkeeper and a defender in the 80th minute to notch a 1-0 home victory for Milton United.

Letcombe, bottom of Divison 1 West, lost 2-0 away to Old Woodstock Town.

Marvin Martin headed home Mark Haigh’s long throw to put Woodstock ahead in the 12th minute, and Tom Ross sealed victory in the 75th minute.
